Because Every Heart Matters ™
"Because Every Heart Matters" we are happy to share both success stories and a few brief "real-life" reports that resonate with our cardiovascular community.
In addition, many recognized authorities around the country have commented about the Accreditation process and all it brings to their facilities. As of January 2017, we became ACC Accreditation Services. Many of the comments below refer to our former organizational name, the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC).
What your peers are saying about accreditation:
"Emergency care is a focus at LifePoint. The emergency room often is a patient's first impression of the hospital. System-wide, we focus on providing the best possible patient experience and improving quality by reducing variation, promoting consistency and adopting best practices to enhance our emergency services. Chest Pain Center Accreditation aligns well with our efforts, and we are proud of our 23 hospitals that recently earned this designation."
David Dill, President and CEO
Lifepoint Health, Brentwood, Tennessee
"The accreditation process for Afib was very well done and supported by our reviewer every step of the way. She provided support, education and process improvements that will help our a-fib patients. Our Cardiologists appreciated her vast knowledge."

Daniel Sutton, BS, MPA, RRT

Hillcrest Hospital, Mayfield Heights, Ohio
"I just want to say how impressed I was with the assistance and encouragement given by our accreditation navigator. She was amazing! She was there at every step of the process to give feedback clearly defines the importance of heart failure patients in the CMS reimbursement paradigm for the executive team."
Niki Mclamb-Doanes, RN, CCCC
CV Accreditation Coordinator
Piedmont Henry Hospital, Stockbridge, Georgia
"Your patience, understanding and your willingness to assist us has been wonderful. The Society's accreditation process was the first for me in any accreditation process outside of prehospital medicine. The last two accreditations have been a great experience for me personally. I have also discovered that not all accreditation processes are as educational and helpful as the Society's. The Society certainly raises the bar for other accrediting bodies."
Kevin J. Hack, MOL EMT-P
Director of Southern Market Operations and Development Director of Ambulance/EMS
Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, llinois
"You cannot imagine what this goal means to me, personally. I love my facility. Being a nurse has always been my passion and heart — how I enter a room, so to speak. I wholly believe in the standards set by the Society. Thus, I want our patients to have the safest environment to come to and the best possible outcomes. I want everyone in our community to know that our little facility can care for hearts in a BIG way."
Trish Jankowski, Clinical Nurse Educator, Chest Pain Coordinator
Mimbres Memorial Hospital, Deming, New Mexico
"I would like to express my appreciation for the great kindness and helpfulness I received from the members of the Society. During the preparation process, I always had the perception of a team that was prepared to do all they could to help me to succeed … all communication from the Society staff was very supportive and positive. Nice is an overused word, but everyone was always so very nice."
Christina Freeman, Regional STEMI Coordinator, CPC Accreditation Coordinator
Greenville Health System, Greenville, South Carolina

"[Chest Pain Center accreditation] has been one of my more challenging, but also rewarding endeavors. I am very proud to have been a part of the team effort to create a program and to see every facet of the hospital work towards improving the care of the cardiac patient. To see the objective and tangible benefits that have occurred over the past 15+ months has made it all worthwhile."
Commander Michael Juliano, MD, Director
Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Portsmouth, Virginia
"Our cardiology program is one we are extremely proud of. As we work toward building our strategic plan to be a regional medical center, services such as angioplasty and a door-to-balloon time that stays well within the Society's guidelines will enhance the quality of care we provide to our patients and be integral to our success."
James P. Alender, President and CEO
Community Howard Regional Health, Kokomo, Indiana
"Accreditation [Chest Pain Center with PCI] proves that our standards of care are among the highest in the nation. This accreditation not only involves our own internal protocols for establishing quality care for cardiac patients, it also involves community education, awareness programs, and training of ambulance crews in order to prevent heart attack deaths."
Christopher Paa, MD, Medical Director, Cardiac Program

"Meridian's recognition as the first and only health care system in New Jersey to receive [Chest Pain Center] accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care confirms that each hospital's EMS, emergency medicine team, cardiac catheterization lab, observation unit, cardiac rehab, and discharge unit provides the best care available for patients suffering from chest pain."
